For acoustic consultants
Modular calculations, with the drawing and the map built in
Every calculation is a block you can stack, re-use and take apart. Take off from the PDF, measure across the site map, and feed both into the sheet — in one window, so a job stops meaning four applications and a folder of exports between them.

What you get
Everything on one surface
The drawing, the sheet, the plot and the map sit side by side, so the work moves between them without an export in the middle.
Calculations that stack
Each of the 56 calculations drops into the sheet as its own block: inputs, workings, result. Feed one block into the next and the chain recalculates end to end. Build a fan-to-grille run once and the parts stay separable, so you can change the duct lining without unpicking the rest.
Drawings, in the same window
Open the PDF beside the sheet, set the scale once, then measure lengths and areas and mark up the drawing where you are working. Measurements land straight in the cells -- no second application, no retyping, no screenshot round trip.
Maps, in the same window
Site plans as a pane like any other. Mark up receptors and barriers, measure distances across the site, and use them in the calculation without leaving for a mapping tool and coming back with a number.
Every save is an Excel workbook too
Saving a .tmb also writes a full workbook inside it -- one worksheet per tab, plus a CSV per tab -- rebuilt from the live cells each time you save. Open the file as a zip and the shareable version is already there. Nothing to remember to export.
Worksheets that know their bands
Octave (31.5 Hz to 8 kHz), 1/3-octave (25 Hz to 10 kHz, ISO 266) and low-frequency sheets, with Excel-style formulas over 800 functions and cross-sheet references. Bands are read from the headers, so a calculation fills the bands it covers and leaves the rest blank.
Plots that go in the report
Chart a spectrum down the bands or across the rows, style it, and copy it out. Tables arrive in Word and LibreOffice as real tables with their structure intact, not one blob of text.
The library
56 calculations,
seven groups
Each one drops into the sheet as a block: inputs you can edit, workings you can follow, and a result that updates as you change them. Every calculation cites the standard it came from.
Results write to the band columns they actually cover. A fan spectrum that only runs 63 Hz to 4 kHz leaves 31.5 Hz and 8 kHz blank rather than filling them with zeroes.

When can I get it?
Timbral is in development and not yet on general release. Register your interest and we will let you know when it opens up, and what it will cost, before it goes public.
What will it cost?
Not decided yet. It will be a subscription, per named user, with a per-seat rate for practices. The numbers will be published here before anyone is asked to commit.
Which platforms does it run on?
Windows, on both Intel/AMD and ARM machines.
Do I need to be online to use it?
No. Timbral runs on your machine and your files stay there. It checks your licence when you activate, and occasionally after that, but your calculations, drawings and data never leave your computer.
Can I get my work out of it?
Yes, and you do not have to think about it. Every save writes a full Excel workbook and a CSV per sheet inside the saved file itself, rebuilt from the live cells each time. Sheets and plots also export to Excel, CSV and PDF on demand.
Where do the calculations come from?
Published standards and guidance, among them ISO 9613-2, ISO 266, BS 8233, CIBSE Guide B4 and ASHRAE. Each calculation cites its source in the app, so you can check the method and show your working.
Be first to know
Timbral is not open to everyone yet. Leave your details and we will get in touch when it is — and tell you what it costs before it goes public.
